Privacy Policy

Last updated June 14, 2026.

Spok3n is built around the principle that your voice is yours. This policy covers the Spok3n apps on both macOS and iOS (the iPhone app and its Spok3n keyboard). All speech transcription happens entirely on your device using WhisperKit and Apple's Neural Engine, and optional AI polish runs on-device as well. Your audio is never transmitted to our servers, stored externally, or used for training.

The Spok3n keyboard (iPhone)

The Spok3n keyboard requests Full Access for one reason: to share dictated text with the main Spok3n app through a private, on-device App Group container and to open the app to start dictation. The keyboard does not record, log, or transmit your keystrokes or anything you type. Microphone recording happens only inside the main app, after you explicitly tap to dictate. Nothing you type on the keyboard is ever sent to Spok3n or any third party.

What we collect

Third parties and AI

Spok3n does notuse any third-party AI service. All speech-to-text and the optional AI polish run on-device (WhisperKit and Apple's on-device models); no audio, transcript, or dictated text is ever sent to an external AI provider. The on-device model files are downloaded once from Hugging Face's public CDN as static, read-only files — a one-way download that sends none of your data.

The only third parties that receive any data are the service providers that make sign-in and billing work: Apple (App Store purchases and subscription status on iPhone), Supabase (authentication for your account email), and Stripe (payment processing on Mac). We share with each only the minimum data described above. Each is contractually bound to safeguard that data, to provide the same or an equivalent level of protection to that described in this policy, and to use it solely to provide their service to us — never to sell it or use it for their own purposes.

What we don't collect

Deleting your account

You can permanently delete your Spok3n account and its data at any time from the web account page or within the app (Settings → Delete Account). This removes your account from our authentication system and clears Spok3n's data on your device. Web and macOS deletion cancels active Stripe subscriptions before the account is removed. Deleting your account does not cancel an active Apple subscription — manage that through your Apple ID subscription settings.

The billing records we store (your Stripe subscription status and renewal data) are kept only while your account exists and are deleted when you delete it. Any payment-provider webhook records received before an account is linked are disassociated from you on deletion. We do not retain your billing data indefinitely or use it for any other purpose.
