Common issues
- iOS keyboard doesn't respond to Dictate. Open Settings → General → Keyboard → Keyboards → Spok3n and make sure Allow Full Access is enabled. Without Full Access the keyboard can't launch the main app to transcribe.
- Microphone permission denied.Open the Spok3n app at least once and grant microphone access when prompted. iOS won't let the keyboard extension request the mic on its own — the main app handles capture.
- Transcription is empty or garbled.The first launch downloads the on-device speech model (~150 MB). On a slow connection this may take a minute. Once it's cached, all transcription is offline.
- macOS app: Globe key not detected.Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility and make sure Spok3n is listed and enabled. After an app update you may need to remove and re-add it.

Spok3n transcribes entirely on-device. Audio and transcripts never leave your Mac or iPhone. See the Privacy Policy for what we do and don't collect.
